Give us a link to another site so I can compare…..heh. I do like this as is, knowing that the full size image will look absolutely knockout!!! We do lose a lot in the compression here, unfortunately!

  • Jake Easley replied

Thanks Mel. Here’s a link to another site. smugmug is down right now so I can’t give you a direct link.

RB tends to use small RGB format, which adds saturation and such to each image. On dA mine all look as they did straight out of CS3, but ehre they all become darkened. I feel your pain.

Excellent image and concept, however, Jake!

  • Jake Easley replied

    Thanks Stephanie!
hmmm…why sRGB? oh well. good to know

Striking image – can’t help with your darkness quandry as I’m looking at it on my lap top…..but FWIW it strikes the right mood for me.

sRGB is the profile that the majority of web browsers can interpret properly. I always change my images for the web to sRGB, but shoot in AdobeRGB, since that’s what my prolab uses.

I see what you mean about the differences though, different tones and quite a lot darker here….

I do think the white background here muddies the water a little though, by making your image appear more contrasty…the full size image here looks MUCH better than the one on this page…

you could do what others do, I guess…..and show a link to the larger sized file here so people can see…..
