These guys reminded me of our family of raccoons that came to our house when we lived out at the lake. I sure miss them. These guys are so cute!

Wow, two feathers for this photo, I am honored. They really are little hams. Don’t worry if they see any other humans they run for cover. I have lived here since 1996 and have formed a truce with the wildlife around here. I just have to remember that I moved into their back yard, they didn’t move into mine.For me they will come very close, some will even take food right from my hand, I only put out a little, that way they are not dependent on me. I am merely their first stop for the evening, before they go on to forage for the night.

I love raccoons too. I have one that its mama brought here when it was a wee thing to raid my cat food bowls. He is now “our somewhat wild pet” coming each morning for a fresh bowl of water and his own portion of catfood. When I turn on the lights, he runs to my screened door and peers in, patiently waiting for his breakfast (actually his dinner since it is about 5 AM and just before he probably hits the hay for the day). Great Photo.
