The British army’s SAS used pink camouflage on the Land Rover 4×4 “jeeps” when in the desert.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 handheld plus flash.
You wouldn’t think that this bright pink paintwork would be good camouflage but I did see this in Libya in the mid 1960s.

My main interest is painting Aviation Art.
I get a lot of enjoyment researching the historical background behind the picture I’ve been commissioned to paint.
I work in acrylic on my big paintings on canvas board but use water colors, pastels, soft and oil, for smaller pieces.
I also enjoy doing pet portraits in soft pastels on tinted paper, from photographs. Ideal presents for Xmas and birthdays.

  • Great museum but as it’s on an operational army camp you have to sign in and have your photo taken at the guardroom. Thanks
