This was still a local custom at weddings here in the North East of England in 1987. I remember “Hoy oots” in the 1940s. The father of the bride threw money “Hoyed oot” through the car window as we left the house for the church.
My main interest is painting Aviation Art. I get a lot of enjoyment researching the historical background behind the picture I’ve been commissioned to paint. I work in acrylic on my big paintings on canvas board but use water colors, pastels, soft and oil, for smaller pieces. I also enjoy doing pet portraits in soft pastels on tinted paper, from photographs. Ideal presents for Xmas and birthdays.
