My main interest is painting Aviation Art.
I get a lot of enjoyment researching the historical background behind the picture I’ve been commissioned to paint.
I work in acrylic on my big paintings on canvas board but use water colors, pastels, soft and oil, for smaller pieces.
I also enjoy doing pet portraits in soft pastels on tinted paper, from photographs. Ideal presents for Xmas and birthdays.

Another great find Woodie! It looks like it’s a P-51D in the colours of the 332 Fighter Group, the Tuskegee Airmen. The “Red nosed bastards” as I think they were called were the first African American Fighter group in World War Two and is credited with never losing a bomber while on Escort!

  • Thanks Allen,
Off the top of my head I thought they had RED TAILS.
    Cheers Neil
    I’ll give it a Google

They had red tails and noses, which is why they were called the red nosed bastards, but I could be wrong!

A FRIEND OF MINE SPENT 7 MONTHS BUILDING AN ELECTRIC MOTORED, RADIO CONTROLLED P-51 MUSTANG. HE ALSO USES ONE TRANSMITTOR FOR 6 DIFFERENT AIRCRAFT. LESS EXPENSIVE THAT WAY. ANYWAY, AFTER ALL HIS HARD WORK, HE DIDN’T CALL ME THE DAY HE TOOK IT OUT FOR IT’S TEST FLIGHT. SHAME SHAME SHAME, NOT ONLY DID IT NOT HANDLE WELL, IT CAME DOWN IN A VIOLENT HARD CRASH AND BROKE INTO MANY SMALLER PIECES OF WOOD AGAIN. I TOLD HIM, NEXT TIME HE GOES OUT FOR A FIRST FLIGHT, IF HE WANTS TO SEE IT IN THE AIR IN A PHOTO BEFORE HE CRASHES THEM, THEN HE BETTER CALL ME TO LET ME KNOW HE’S GOING FLYING. I DON’T HAVE A PROBLEM OF MEETING HIM AT THE FLYING FIELD. SO, HE ORDERED A NEW MUSTANG, ONLY THIS ONE IS FIBERGLASS AND A 60 SIZE, NOT A 35 SIZE, AND IT IS ALMOST ALL PUT TOGETHER FOR YOU. NOW HE HAS TO SPEND MORE MONEY ON A LARGER MOTOR AND SPEED CONTROLL AND SERVOS. I’LL BET HIS WIFE IS FUMING AT THE GILLS. LOL HAVE A GREAT DAY NEIL, BOB :)
