Great photo Neil. I have a photo of my dad on a similar looking motorbike and my grandfather had one too. You have triggered a memory of him for me! He used to wear a really strange looking leather helmet.
Hi Lynda,So pleased this raised happy memories for you. I was 11 years old at this time and often go a to ride on the back if I was been taken to Motor Cycle racing somewhere by my dad. We did get a very old car later on.Cheers Neil
What a great photo Neil.
Thanks Steve Cheers Neil
Great photo Neil. Flying suits were all the rage for motorcyclist just after the war. I still have a bomber suit in the cupboard. It is SO hot when you put it on. It is short legged so that you don’t have to tuck it in flying boots. – Ted
He did have some racing leathers and crash helmet as his boss used to race at the TT in the Isle of Man. He didn’t used them much.I had a para trooper’s all in one overall when i had a m/bike!!!Cheers Neil
My Mum and Dad started out on a BSA Star and added a sidecar when I arrived !!
The friends we went to m/c racing had an USA Indian m/c with a sidecar. We got an old Jowet car later.Cheers N
