This was painted for a Lancaster flight engineer on rest from ops. He is in the rear seat.
Flying over RAF Millfield airfield near Wooler in Northumberland in 1945.
I used an oldish ordinance survey map to get the road alongside the airfield correct. But saying that, the road is probably still the same as it was in the 1940s when the airfield was built.
