1955 The Leather Jerkins by

10 year after WW2 I was a 18 year old SAC (Senior Aircraft-man) servicing the RAF’s Lincoln bombers (a mk 4 Lancaster?).
The only cold weather clothing we had was left over WW1 & 2 leather jerkins. The writing on the front says RADAR, and I had Donald Duck with a tail end like the radome you can see underneath, painted on the back. The green overalls were called Denims.
I’m the skinny one 2nd from the left.

My main interest is painting Aviation Art.
I get a lot of enjoyment researching the historical background behind the picture I’ve been commissioned to paint.
I work in acrylic on my big paintings on canvas board but use water colors, pastels, soft and oil, for smaller pieces.
I also enjoy doing pet portraits in soft pastels on tinted paper, from photographs. Ideal presents for Xmas and birthdays.
