This photo was taken with a Pentax Optio S5n, at Real Aeroplane Company, Breighton, North Yorkshire.UK
This plane crashed earlier in the year (2007) and sadly the pilot lost his life..
New note 11/11/12
I’ve been trying for years to establish whether this was really either S/L Gleed’s or Smallwood’s a/c or just a paint job depicting LK-A, as it had a different paint job when it crashed ao Shoreham airshow, in 2007. This plane was hangared at Real Aeroplane Company, Breighton, Nr Selby, just south of York when I lasted saw it. Unfortunately this aircraft crashed on the 15th September 2007 at the Shoreham Air Show, in West Sussex. The pilot Brian Brown died in the crash. S/L Smallwoods a/c ser. no was BE500. S/L Gleed’s a/c ser.no was P2798 and the photo I have shows the S/L pennant on the tail. I love researching my paintings. LOL. So now I realize that this is probably S/L “Widge” Gleed a/c based paint job. Cheers Neil
