RMS Titanic entering New York Harbor 1912 by

New larger image for prints 26/6/2010
Another commission of something that might of been.
Researching early 1900s American small harbour craft was rather difficult.
I painted the sky quite a few times before I got it right and I also drew a map of the harbour so the sun and statue of Liberty were in the right place.
Acrylic on Daler board. 20″×30″ 1998

My main interest is painting Aviation Art.
I get a lot of enjoyment researching the historical background behind the picture I’ve been commissioned to paint.
I work in acrylic on my big paintings on canvas board but use water colors, pastels, soft and oil, for smaller pieces.
I also enjoy doing pet portraits in soft pastels on tinted paper, from photographs. Ideal presents for Xmas and birthdays.

Great work, and I notice you got it right. the 4th smoke stack did not work. It is correct to show it without smoke. Well done Woodie
