My main interest is painting Aviation Art.
I get a lot of enjoyment researching the historical background behind the picture I’ve been commissioned to paint.
I work in acrylic on my big paintings on canvas board but use water colors, pastels, soft and oil, for smaller pieces.
I also enjoy doing pet portraits in soft pastels on tinted paper, from photographs. Ideal presents for Xmas and birthdays.

God woodie this takes me back 50 years it looks a bit different know, I can remember the toy shop most of all about where the post office is know, I can remember all those years back getting a bike there but I didn’t have it long because my dad couldn’t afford the payments so they took it back, I learned a great lesson then.

    Hi Marshall,
The PO is no longer there, move up the road to the newsagents. I sold the painting to the estate agent. Under tree next to Greggs.
We all have stories to tell about how life was so tough up here in the North East, 50/60 years ago, but we survived and lived to tell the tale. My daughters, now in their 40s would say the kids have it easy nowadays.

I’d never been here before Neil, but recently my wife and I took a walk along this street. I personally would like to see you doing more pictures in this style.

  • Hi Dave,
Thanks for comment. This was my local village high street 30 odd years ago! This style can be applied to any street/row of shops. I used photos that I’d taken myself.
    Cheers Neil
