Drying Sails in Dock
I’ve just re-established contact with the owner of this painting and have obtained a large hi-res image for display on RB. I hope you like it.
It’s acrylic on canvas board. 1983 I think

When you do traditional scenes like this, Woodie, it’s easy to compare you to the greats and after seeing this I think you can stand among them without looking out of place – excellent work.

WoW love it!
I’ve been reading THE WAR FOR ALL THE OCEANS by Roy Adkins and Lesley Adkins.
It’s about the British involvement in Napoleon’s plan to dominate Europe. People’s journals are used, and the authors’ wrote it very well, so that’s it’s actually a gripping, read.till.the.book.drops.on.you piece of non-fiction lit. It’s an awesome painting, thanks for posting such a great photo of it!

I’ve just found out this was on the Home Page 17 hours ago.
Not long enough for the artist to see, never mind the whole world!!LOL .
I see someelse had this problem, his work was on and off before he knew it.
Thanks for commenting. This is a painting of a trading ship and the custom was to paint gun ports along the side to deter pirates!!
Regards and a happy New year,
