a legendary Aircraft, with legendary men flying them in the bombing raids over Germany in the 2nd World War, a worthy tribute to those brave men,

Ooooo, I love this rendition, Woodie. I have a photo of a Lancastor in my files that I’ll up-load in a day or two. It’s out of Canada, and it flew at the EAA air show in 2006.
Woodie replied
Thanks John, I’m looking forward to your photo of Canada’s Lancaster.
Is that a Mk.X with a Martin upper turret similar to a B-24?
Cheers Neil
john403
Hey, Woodie.. I think it is…not sure. I found a couple of shot…not my best as this was the first time shooting planes. I’ll up-load them.
Mark Jones

Woodie replied
Hi Phil,
Thanks for the compliment but this is a PAINTING in acrylics.!!!!
Cheers Neil
I’ll better amend the writeup!!LOL
Phil Woodman
Neil, I assumed it was painted from an actual photograph.
Woodie replied
Hi Phil
I had to use an old b/w photo for reference for the lancaster but the rest is all mine, the composition, type of sky, tones and colours used.
No it’s not a painting of a photograph!!
Regards Neil
Phil Woodman
Neil, no problem.

Beautiful Painting. What a wonderful day to save this to my favorites ON MEMORIAL DAY. Great Job
Woodie replied
Thank you for favouring this and adding me to your watch list.
This could easily of been a B17 of the USAF but it would of been flying into the sun. (They flew by day, the RAF at night)
Cheers Neil
