Artist's Description

Nikon D80, Nikkor AF-S DX ED 18-200mm VR lens at f5.6, 1/400sec, ISO 200, 150mm.

The reflections on the chrome “Bullet” shaped front bumper, or “Dagmar”, of a 1958 Cadillac Eldorado.

The 1957 Cadillac was the first to strut the “Dagmars”…. These bumpers were on the other members of the GM family… but, everything was bigger on the Caddy.

Virginia Rush Egnor was a full fiqured blonde who went by the name Dagmar on NBC’s 1950 Late-night talk show, “Broadway Open House”… The original “Tonight Show”. During the same time period Cdillacs began sprouting a pair of protrusions from their front bumpers and since the cars had long been associated with celabrities, the comparision of the bumpers and Dagmar’s chest was a natural.
