I think that it is fair to say that the Cadillac was the dominant luxury brand in the American market from the late 1930’s into the 1970’s.
The gas “shortage” of the early 70’s, the influx of better quality European and then Japanese competition took a toll on Cadillac…. A management team who still had the attitude , “What’s good for General Motors is good for the USA’ didn’t help either.
It took a while, but the Cadilliac brand is coming on strong and maybe, ’What’s good for the USA is a strong General Motors, Ford and Chrysler”

John has had a camera in front of his face for the better part of 60 years and will continue until he gets it right! Please respect the applicable domestic and international copyrights…. Enjoy, purchase or save if you like, but no publication, any media, without written permission.

    (clients first!)

  • Thank you for your comment! A column, back in the 60’s, noted that GM had so many stockholders, that out of loyalty GM would always do well… things sure did change.
