Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion – Canandaigua, NY, USA

In 1906, a Japanese designer and team of workers created this detailed miniature landscape from an orchard in just six months, returning in 1908 to build a teahouse. International garden styles became popular around the turn of the twentieth century. The first public Japanese garden in America, which opened in 1893, was at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, CA.
