HEY NICE NIGHT SCENE, SO WARM THE PHOTO FEELS.
I WAS JUST WONDERING WHY WITH DIGITAL CAMERAS, THE PHOTO ALWAYS COMES OUT YELLOW, WHEN WHAT YOU ARE PHOTOING IS NOT YELLOW 2 BEGIN WITH, DO YOU KNOW WILLIAM?

With this one, it’s mostly the location, the lights are all incandescent lights that produce an orange glow everwhere. Even though the camera’s (Nikon D50) white balance feature is supposed to correct most of that, It can’t be entirely escaped. My Nikon D100 has better white balance compensation.
In fact to see what the difference in white balance compensation can be between the D50 and D100 (where there is more control over the compensation of the D100)
Here to view my photos at RailPictures.Net
Notice if you were to take a look at photo #184720 (the rio grande Unit) and photo #178037 (UP 5340)
If you notice the difference between UP 5340 and D&RGW unit, the lighting is the same source, but the camera’s used were different. I didn’t have to process the color as much for the D&RGW unit as I did the UP5340 picture because the white balance was corrected better.
Ambient color depends on the white balance preset of the camera, and the lighting available.
