Caress by Katarzyna Wolodkiewicz

This painting is a part of a series entitled “Caress”. The series itself materialised as an outcome of my reflections about memories. Transience, imperfection, fragility… what is that’s left of our experience and becomes a memory? Is it image, scent, taste? What are templates of our memory made of? Does the process beautify or deform the reality? “Caress” was an excuse for a research about means of perception and receiving images, a possibility to get the viewer into a kind of coquetry, a joyful game. If you’re interested in buying originals, feel free to contact me. More paintings of this and other series:

I’m a painter, illustrator, graphic artist and art teacher from Wroclaw, Poland, where I run Fenomenarium – my own Art Workshops. I graduated at the Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw (MFA in Graphics in 2002). I’m interested in commissions: illustration, portrait, painting, drawing, etc. and open to cooperation with illustration studios and publishing houses as a freelancer.
