I do not know what sort of spider this is, but they are so comical. They are also very forward. One jumped right at the camera lense and I almost fell backwards:) I also wrote a little poem to go with this photo, suitable for a children’s book???

I wonder what he sees
When the spider looks at me.
Does he see in 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10
Or a spider squashing enemy?

Does he see a friend or foe,
Does he even care to know.

Does he see me in color
Or in shades of grey?

Can he tell if I’m happy
Or if I’m having a terrible day?

Does he wonder why I am watching him
With a smile upon my face?

He does not retreat from me at all,
He keeps his tiny place.

Does he like to hear me scream
When he jumps towards me with surprise!

He moves his mouth as if to say,
I do not fear your size.

He is a curious little creature,
With spikes and spines and fangs.

He even has a tiny beard,
And it looks like he might have bangs.

I wonder what he sees
When he looks at me.

Does he see a friend
Or a spider-squashing enemy!

I will let him be,
He eats those stinky flies,

Even though I see ten of me
In his creepy eyes!
