Beautiful Capture! I Love Berchtesgaden & their delicious local bier.
Ah yes, the Bier, but of course everywhere in Germany has great beer.
An amazing location, very nicely captured!
I dragged my 4×5 view camera all over Germany and Austria for four weeks. Got a lot of nice shots from that trip, I have a few up on bubble but probably should add a few more.
I’ve only been into Digital Photography since 2004 and it wasn’t until joining RB in 2008 that I started to become more passionate about photography and started to progress. I don’t even know what a 4×5 view camera is, though.
I guess you have to be a crusty old bird like I am To know and still use one. It’s a LARGE bellows camera ( must be used with a tripod) that produces a 4×5 inch negative or chrome (slide). Have you ever seen a photo of a Photographer behind an ancient looking camera with a dark cloth over his head to view the image on the ground glass – that a view camera.
Yes, I’ve seen them in Documentaries and some Movies. The early history of Photography and the genius behind the invention of the Camera fascinates me. I watch a lot of Photography Documentaries whenever there’s one on TV and I find them all inspiring and very interesting – to see what equipment people are using and what methods they use and value.
