A Price Worth Paying

I’ve circled through thoughts,
In dealing with death.
It’s a cold inevitability,
Seeking our final breath…

I hear it’s Gods’ will,
And often the morbid hand of fate,
We all want youth forever,
But death you will never escape…

Although…it’s what happens after,
Why people attend buildings so beautifully built,
With a beauty inside,
To resemble their heaven in pride,
“Eternal Life”
Is the promise what titles the guide,
And you fall to your knees,
“Jesus, Mary and the little donkey!,
Grant unto thee,
The unmistakable promise,
Of no death for me!” (insert huge pleading eyes and smile from ear to ear, it’s a promise so perfectly clear…)

For me…I want nothing.
No promise of life after death,
To shut my eyes in peace,
In my loving final breath…
As I can gain no heaven no higher than this life,
I would leave this world with a “Thank you”,
And see death a worthy price…
