Artist's Description

Visited the Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe this summer. The chapel is known for the stair case that you see here. Years ago, the sisters of the chapel prayed for someone to build a staircase to the balcony. A man came along and did just so. Now you must imagine for a moment this staircase with no railing or spindles – that’s how it was originally built. It’s only connection to the building was the balcony and the floor. It’s wood is unknown to the area and it’s making, nothing less than a miracle. Quite literally it is an architectural marvel and is still revered by architects worldwide.
The man…well when the nuns went to pay him – he was gone. Never seen again. If you ever have the chance to see it – you really should.
