This is a fractal tree in fall colors which was done based on the amazing Pythagoras Tree tutorial by dA’s IDeviant (Ian).

This is also the latest tutorial being done over in the Apophysis Tutorial Fun group.

It’s a really basic tutorial that yields a neat looking tree. Then I tweaked it and played around with the variations and gradient and came up with this. This is also one of my entries to the Back to Fractal Class Contest being held on dA right now by Community Relations. If you are a member of dA and make fractals using either Apo, UF or Mandelbulb 3D, then go check it out and enter something. The prizes for the top 3 winners are very good!

I am a recent fractal artist, just since 2008. I have fallen in love with this type of art because of the infinite variety of form, fabulous colors and great lighting effects that can be achieved. The software is mostly free and I dabble with most of them. If you enjoy fractal art, please take a look at my gallery. I would be thrilled if you stop by and say “Hi” and make a comment (or not)!

  • Thank you so much, Pam! I’m so glad you liked it! It’s a really neat tut. Perhaps, it’s one we can do in ATF soon. Then everyone can make a tree (contrary to what Joyce Kilmer says).

  • Thank you so much, Janet!! I don’t know if the results are posted yet. I don’t remember when the contest ends. But there were so many trees entered, I don’t think I have a shot. But, I appreciate the pep talk!
