This is my tweak of Jackie’s tweak of the starting params provided by Debs (whew!) for the current Apo PONG going on in the Fractal PONG group. I called it this because this shape, (not the color) reminded me of sea creature called a porpita. Porpita porpita, which is commonly known as blue button, is a colony of hydroids, commonly mistaken to be a type of jellyfish, that is found in topical waters, from California to the tropical pacific.

Here’s a couple of links to some pics.

I know the color of this is wrong, but the shape and jellyfish-like “tentacles” made me think of something similar on the Gulf Coast. I seem to remember calling them sea coins, but I can’t find anything with that name. This is close except for the blue color.

Made in Apophysis 7X v15 and postwork done in PhotoPlus X4.

I am a recent fractal artist, just since 2008. I have fallen in love with this type of art because of the infinite variety of form, fabulous colors and great lighting effects that can be achieved. The software is mostly free and I dabble with most of them. If you enjoy fractal art, please take a look at my gallery. I would be thrilled if you stop by and say “Hi” and make a comment (or not)!
