Got out one of my old jelly flames and started playing with it and came up with this guy. It looks like he lives in the deep dark depths of the sea, where the only light comes from himself.

Made in Apophysis 7X v15 and postwork done in PhotoPlus X4.

I am a recent fractal artist, just since 2008. I have fallen in love with this type of art because of the infinite variety of form, fabulous colors and great lighting effects that can be achieved. The software is mostly free and I dabble with most of them. If you enjoy fractal art, please take a look at my gallery. I would be thrilled if you stop by and say “Hi” and make a comment (or not)!

    Very cool work Peggi. :o)

  • Thank you bunches, Bunny! I have been playing with Apo jellies since I first started using Apo in late 2008. I haven’t achieved my goal. I want them to look more like 1arcticfox’s (Anita), who used to have a whole gallery of jellies and dreamcatchers that used to make me drool on myself. She removed them when dA started the Share button stuff. What a loss! I had managed to save one of them just as a desktop size image. I go look at it every now and then for inspiration and try to figure out what she did. Stunning work! But, I keep trying. Maybe one day…

Love all the various colors and the sense of floating through the currents. Really beautiful!

  • Thank you, Carolyn, for the wonderful comment! I tried to get some movement in it without resorting to post-mandipulation, which I have used in the past. It works OK, but I was pretty happy with this. I’m glad you got the sense of “floating”! That makes me smile.
