Here is an Apo oldie when I was trying very hard to replicate 1arcticfox’s amazing “jellies”. I didn’t come close to her amazing jelly fractals, but I thought these looked OK. The jellyfish and algae are separate Apo fractals combined and put on a gradient background with some ripple action going on in GIMP.

This received a Daily Deviation on deviantart.com in May 23, 2009!
It was my first and I was over the moon! Thanks to dA’s jennabee25 for suggesting it and to dA’s cmptrwhz for selecting and featuring it!

Made with Apo 2.08 3D Hack and postwork done in GIMP. I hope you enjoy these little invertebrates. I don’t know if they sting, but I wouldn’t get too close to find out.

I am a recent fractal artist, just since 2008. I have fallen in love with this type of art because of the infinite variety of form, fabulous colors and great lighting effects that can be achieved. The software is mostly free and I dabble with most of them. If you enjoy fractal art, please take a look at my gallery. I would be thrilled if you stop by and say “Hi” and make a comment (or not)!

Another of your lovely, beauteous collage. I love it. :)

  • Thank you very much, Josette, my sweet friend! Yes, this one was my first, I think. I had so much fun and such good responses from this, it’s what started me thinking about doing other collages using fractals. I have enjoyed doing them every since.
