I am a recent fractal artist, just since 2008. I have fallen in love with this type of art because of the infinite variety of form, fabulous colors and great lighting effects that can be achieved. The software is mostly free and I dabble with most of them. If you enjoy fractal art, please take a look at my gallery. I would be thrilled if you stop by and say “Hi” and make a comment (or not)!

Wow! They are only boring brown in Illinois. Great detailed macro!

  • Thanks, Lyle. Yes, most of the ones we see are the boring brown, too. But I spotted this fellow cleaning himself by our pool. I actually took some video of him, too. And right at the end, he turned around and flew right at me! It’s kind of surprising on the video! Like, Aagghh!

I’m with Lyle here. WOW! I’ve never seen one this color! How cool is that! You should add this one to some of the marco bug groups. They’d love it!

  • Thanks for the wonderful comment, Micci. I’ll have to check on that. Do you know which ones they might be? I did a search of Insects in the Groups. Is there a specific insect macro one? I have several close-ups of bugs I could submit. Some of them are kinda creepy!

  • Thank you, Ray! I think this is one of my favorites. The green of this beetle is sooo intense. And I love the iridescent quality of it.
