Ruby-throated Hummingbird Feeding from Weigela by

Both juvenile and adult Ruby-throated Hummingbirds are very active in my yard feeding from available flowers, shrubs and the nectar feeder. There are numerous daily battles over the nectar feeder which provides some great photographic opportunities. Photographed in Clarence-Rockland, Ontario, Canada. Canon EOS 7D, 400mm f5.6L USM, tripod.

Spending time in the outdoors has always been a passion of mine. Most of my subject matter is avian but I will readily spend hours photographing almost anything else in the natural world. Currently I live near a small town, Rockland, just east of Ottawa. I work in Ottawa and so most of my photography is done in eastern Ontario. Thank you for dropping by and enjoy.

Nicely done Bill, I am going to have to put up some feeders next year.

  • Thanks, Michael! September and October can be great as you probably know as the little guys gorge themselves on nectar before their long flight south.
