    What is going on with “flower” on its nose? Is that some sort of growth or is it just some debris sitting on its nose?

    It’s a flower :)

    That’s one of the best parts of this pic for me. It looks like a bronze sculpture and matches the frog’s colours. I was digging up weeds and found this guy under all the mulch. He was sent on his way safe and sound. That was a year or two ago. This year we added a still-water pond to the garden and had this species breed there. The tadpoles haven’t got legs yet, but I’m watching :)
