Green silk swirled around her. She could feel the mist from the waterfall on her face.
The water was above her waist now. She turned to look at him. He watched, curious to see what she would do. She backed away slowly, watching his eyes. They were so intense, watching her. She could feel the heat from his gaze, a sharp contrast to the coolness of the water. Her pulse quickened and still she walked slowly backward.
The water flowed over her head from above. Her flaming hair darkened and fell down her back. The fire gone. She stood there letting the water wash over her. Their gazes were locked still. She raised one arm out of the water and held her hand out to him. Still reaching toward him she backed away behind the waterfall. He just sat there watching, but didn’t move. He seemed frozen in place.
Slowly she lowered her hand and smiled. She turned and found her own rock to sit on behind the falling water. She curled up on her rock, the green silk dress tangled around her…her hair tumbling down. A soft whisper danced over the water to him. “This is where I’ll be”
