Really stunning work JW. I admire your paintings and am inspired by your descriptive writings.

  • J W Baker replied

I think the right title and the right “description’ are like finding the right frame – they complete the image.

I think you are quite right JW. You are so very good at it. I am afraid I am deficient in doing that with some of my work. I think from now on I will try to follow your good example.

  • J W Baker replied

Adding descriptions is ‘learned behavior’ for me – the process of communicating through my art is an ongoing one, so as I go along I just keep trying to refine what I ‘say’ down to the simplest gestalt of balance; just the right words with the right image…

Oh I’ve seen Medicine Cards which are a bit like a Tarot Deck with Native American Symbolism and Animal Totems- I think you can use them for readings, healing and meditation. I keep meaning to get a set, I’m drawn to Native American art and symbolism- your words reminded me of the culture too :))))))) xxxx

  • J W Baker replied

    Okay – now I get it – cool – that’s quite a compliment indeed – Thank you!
