Beautiful shot! This photo is reminiscent of an era that seems to have come to an end. The way of life that this photo represents has all but vanished and there’s not even a lot of folks left who who are still living that can tell us about these long ago times. Our country was once fed by families who proudly farmed their land sometimes for generations and now these family farms have been replaced by factory farming. This lonely, abandoned old farm house serves as a reminder of what once was. It’s sad.

  • Thank you so much for the beautiful comment Vivian. I love it when you comment on something of mine and the stories you sometimes tell about the past. Regarding your last sentence, that’s one of the main reasons why i go looking for places like this. If someone does’nt capture their images they vanish forever. I can stand outside an old house like this and allow my imagination to run free thinking about those who once called this old house their home and wonder what happened to these folks. Places like this are riddled with 100’s of stories to tell if you’re willing to listen……….

    a beauty, nice work

  • Thank you Dennis. I’ll be back in this area again on this coming sunday when i’m not working. I’m FINELY going to try bracketing photo’s and see if i can create a nice HDR (with tone mapping) of this old house. This photograph was taken from inside my work vehicle. I’m taking my old rusty bicycle and a pair of old work boots with me when i return and hopefully be able to get up close to the house and use them.
