Located between Sauk City and Baraboo Wisconsin is this small quaint country church of unknown faith (built in 1895) that has been abandoned for a number of years. It was enshrouded by a thick growth of scrub trees but someone has cleared most of them away from the old church. With any luck. someone has taken an interest in the old church and will hopefully clean it up. Inside the church are two very old cars late 40’s early 50’s and heaps of garbage.

A beautiful scene…but sorry to see such a beautiful little church abandoned.

  • Thank you Gordon. All might not be lost for this poor church. Someone has cleared away the thick undergrowth of scrub trees that once surrounded the building so someone is attempting to clean the place up somewhat. Whether they do anything or not to the actual structure i dont know…..

That’s sad, however, it looks like it isn’t in too much disrepair.

  • No it isnt Pauline but it’s starting to deteriorate along the roofline towards the back that you cant see in the photo. The interior is far worse having all that garbage and two old cars sitting inside it

It is a charming picture and church, pity it has been abandoned, would make a nice home for someone. Shirley

  • Thank you for the nice compliment Shirley. Before someone cleared out all of the trees, during the summertime all you could see of the church was from the roof up. It would take a lot of money to fix this place up and make it livable because the deterioration has been allowed to go on for far to long. The interior with the two cars and all the mounds of garbage is deplorable. The interior is far worse off than the exterior……
