Wow, amazing capture, I never seem to be able to capture them, I either don’t have the camera or it’s in the middle of town and that doesn’t make for a good shot.

Thanks all, it’s handy being a farmer and remembering to keep the camera bag in the ute, you never know when the moment will arise….

Well captured Nick, did that elusive pot of gold get loaded into the ute by any chance? I was coming home from town [Leongatha] recently & had a full 210 degree rainbow in front of me…... & no camera!
But on getting home, grabbed the camera, raced back outside, pointed the camera started clicking but the rainbow was so close that even with the wide angle lens I couldn’t fit it into the photo! Then the rain came & the rainbow went & I couldn’t find the pot of gold anywhere! Bugger!!!!

  • Nick Hunt replied

    Thanks Lee,
This was just good luck, and happened to be 200 meters from my front gate! Lucky there’s an appealing natural setting there. Stick at it, you get that pot of gold shot some time.

Thanks, I assure you it was good luck, – carrying the camera with me in the back seat of the farm ute, and shooting out the window at the right time, not actually chasing it as I’m trying to do with lightening!
