Lots of girls love horses, and some very lucky ones get to ride them, but how many little girls get to ride their very own seahorse? Well, I’ll tell you, not very many! Little Esme is a bit unusual as equestriennes go and her seahorse, Ampersand is quite a special fellow as well. Outfitted with a giant mouth funnel so he can blow a parade of bubbles en route, a handy nightlight and custom sea-horn, Ampersand is one top-of-the-line seahorse. Esme has donned her quirky bubble hat and taken hold of Ampersand’s reins and the two of them look forward to a day ambling through the briny deep. If you happen to meet up with them, remember: Ampersand always appreciates a sugar cube or kelp cake dropped into his funnel.

This piece is part of an original seahorse shrine (here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/51236029/seahorse-s...). Here’s the description of the item: This utterly unique 5 1/2” x 3 1/2” x 3/4” (total height with hanger is 8”) shrine is constructed in a hinged tin with thick acrylic “window” looking in upon a handpainted watercolor background and handcut vintage images. It’s accented with handmade paper “sand”, crystal “bubbles”, lovely shell & coral specimens, silvertone brass corners, silver charms and watch gears and a real starfish. Esme the Equestrienne and Ampersand are raised from the background for depth and Ampersand has heavy thread “reins”. Small nail can be hammered through the top hole of hanger. Finished on the back with beautiful art paper and signed.
