Sybilline Beau Fesse was, by all accounts, the most genteel of young ladies. Extraordinarily well-heeled, she was from one of the finest old French families and was educated at a series of exclusive Swiss finishing schools, making her a most appropriate match for the dignified Prime Minister Bouche of Belgium. Or at least that was the case until the fateful afternoon that a certain French ambassador mischievously pulled a bottle of absinthe out of his diplomatic pouch and mixed her up a little apertif. From that day forward, at precisely 5:00 pm, Sybilline would knock back a few glasses of the stuff in lieu of tea, slip out of her staid frock and belt out several verses of La Marseillaise while strutting around the Prime Minister’s salon in the altogether. While the Prime Minister was decidedly Not Amused, Sybilline’s antics greatly endeared her to the constituency, for rather obvious reasons, although they certainly would have preferred a Belgian anthem.

This 4” x 6” x 3/4” original collage depicts Sybilline disporting herself charmingly on the Prime Minister’s sofa, a cut-crystal decanter of her favorite beverage nearby. Constructed on a stretched canvas with handcut vintage images, the collage is embellished with Dresden trim, a green gem, a small brass fleur de lis and is edged with a moss satin ribbon dripping with beguiling green and gold beading. Invite Sybilline over for a cocktail – you won’t regret it.

love the hell out of this one. Just bought a bottle of Lucid Absinthe and dying to try it but haven’t yet. Hopefully, I will not do as Sybilline!! Are all of these stories really from your mind? If so, it’s incredibly creative in there!!!!!
