Luna the Lepidoptophile
Paraphilia certainly come in all forms and expressions, but Luna’s passion for moths was undoubtedly unusual. Ironic, as well, given that her mother suffered from such a phobia of the winged creatures that she had had Luna’s entire childhood home swathed in cedar. Interacting with peers when one smells persistently of a closet sachet was difficult to say the least, and Luna’s capacity for social discourse was accordingly limited, except, arguably, when it came to moths. She was particularly fond of an enormous Sphinx moth she named Lorenzo, and they spent many an enjoyable evening together among the fragrant night-blooming flowers in Luna’s garden. Lorenzo was attentive enough, as paramours go, although he could be said to be the quiet type due to the fact that moths have no mouths. She made a special pair of wings for herself to make herself even more attractive to him and they would spend countless hours fluttering around a large safety candle that Luna designed. Luckily, eccentricities are no barrier to a career in lepidoptery, and Luna’s naturalistic observations and the resultant theories earned her worldwide academic acclaim.

Thanks, everyone! Wonderland, he’s up in your attic, eating one of your sweaters right now ;-).
