Goldengate Bridge in the fog

Marjorie Wallace

Lacey, United States

Artist's Description

Last summer, I splurged and flew down to San Francisco for one day. One special day in summer to wander the streets of my most favorite city, ride the cable car down to the waterfront and take a tour that included north beach and a drive over the Goldengate Bridge. Quite often, the bridge and bay are shrouded in fog or mist, but that doesn’t take away the magic of this most famous bridge. It takes an entire year to paint it and when they finish, they just start over again. I believe they chose the orange color so that it would stand out in the fog.

Camera; Nikon D60
Lens; AR-S NIKKOR 18-55mm
