Carmel by the Sea by Marjorie Wallace

Carmel cottage is a stones throw from the sea…

I am completely enchanted with Carmel by the Sea. This charming town in California will speak to you in ways you never imagined. The village is famous for it;s charm and the many artists, writers and English fairy tale houses. When you come here, just park your car and get out and walk to explore it. You, too will be seduced by it’s beauty and charm. If I lived here, I would invite you in for a cup of tea and shortbread cookies. We would sit and enjoy the view of the sea. After we had visited for a while and had a few laughs, you would resume your walk and I would return to my rose garden….

Cameras and photography captured my interest years ago as a child with my little Brownie. The cameras have changed over the years until the Digital age when I got really serious about photography. Not only has my work improved, but it has opened many doors to meeting wonderful people along the way. New friendships and learning new skills… I am hopeful that some of my best work is yet to come.

I really like this shot this first time I saw it. The perspective is perfect in showcasing the free-form archetectural design of the buiding. Carmel is certainly a photographer’s dream town. It is on my list of “must visit” sites in California. Until then… I have this great shot to view and motivate me. Thanks Marjie.

  • Thank you so much, Clark for your kind words. It seems I missed responding to your message before, so I am very, very belated. So happy to see that I just sold eight cards of this image. Yippity doo dah…

A very beautiful old character cottage Marjie and your composition of it is perfect, easy to appreciate why you are so attracted to this area with charming old world styled houses like this overlooking the sea, beautifully captured,
    Regards, Rod.

  • Thank you, Rod. It is “old world” for sure with a bit of Hansel and Gretel thrown in.

We also love that area. We spent the weekend at a wonderful time share…though we did not buy a slice…it is called the Highlands Inn Hyatt Carmel. We loved the place…and the area!
