View from The Bend
Horseshoe Bend, Glen Canyon.
Shot with a Nikon D-200, 17-55 f2.8 at f18, 1/10th second, 17mm.
A beautiful morning out on the Bend, this was shot before the sun hit the rim and then the water at 5:49 AM. We had the place to ourselves but for one other photographer who dissapeared quickly. It is rare to have such beauty in complete solitude, and I was grateful for it.
The winds were high at my back, maybe 10-15 MPH, making you very aware that you were on the edge of a cliff, tripod butted up to the last inch and foot pushing the body away. Great morning, I wanted to post a shot that was not a full view that we see so often.

Thank you Bob, it was nice to have the whole Bend to ourselves this morning, and made it nice to try and catch an angle that somehow was unique.
