Introduced in 1961 the A110 used many Renault parts. After winning several rallies in France in the late 1960s with iron-cast R8 Gordini engines the car was fitted with the aluminium-block Renault 16 TS engine. Between 1970 and1972 its’ reputation grew and it was considered one of the strongest rally cars of the time. The 1600S shown here was used by Jean-Pierre Nicolas to win the 1973 Tour de Corse.

Confirmed Petrol Head first and foremost, who happens to enjoy photography as a hobby.
I was bitten by the motor sport bug at a young age and prefer long distance sports car racing over single seaters. I also love the passion and enthusiasm of the owners and drivers of historic race cars and find this form of motorsport, as well as rallying, the most spectacular because of the lower grip levels and loose style of driving employed.
