Triumph TR7 V8 by Willie Jackson

Available to buy on…

The TR8 was for the American market and never officially sold on the UK market, those that were produced sold as the TR7 V8. Rallied with some success from 1976 to 1980 the rear wheel drive car had probably reached the limit of what could be achieved with 300bhp delivered through only one axle, Tony Pond commenting that the rear tyres were shredded after 7 miles of a gravel stage. In 1980 Audi provided the solution in the form of the Quattro. This car is being exercised on the rally stage at Race Retro, Stoneleigh, 14th March 2010.

Confirmed Petrol Head first and foremost, who happens to enjoy photography as a hobby.
I was bitten by the motor sport bug at a young age and prefer long distance sports car racing over single seaters. I also love the passion and enthusiasm of the owners and drivers of historic race cars and find this form of motorsport, as well as rallying, the most spectacular because of the lower grip levels and loose style of driving employed.
