In 1973 General Motors of South Africa shoehorned an American Chevrolet Camaro Z28 engine into a British Vauxhall Firenza bodyshell to take on Ford in the local saloon car championship. They built 100 of these cars with an engine rated at 290 horsepower in a car that weighed 1100kg. Seen here on the rally stage at Race Retro, Stoneleigh, 14th March 2010

Confirmed Petrol Head first and foremost, who happens to enjoy photography as a hobby.
I was bitten by the motor sport bug at a young age and prefer long distance sports car racing over single seaters. I also love the passion and enthusiasm of the owners and drivers of historic race cars and find this form of motorsport, as well as rallying, the most spectacular because of the lower grip levels and loose style of driving employed.
