Dragonfly

William Monet

Artist's Description

This is an interesting dragon fly just hangin upside down on a black surface. The way in which these art pieces unfold is really something im intrigued by as they are “found” rather than created. I do have an initial input as to what it is I am looking for but only as a broad idea. The rest happens by trial and error, kind of like a mini hadron collider of sorts, starting with alll of the particles and then smashing them through my mind untill I see something tangable pop up, sometimes the endevour is fruitless and what I initially start with is garbage and nothing clicks and then other times an image here pushed there moved up, or down, contrasted, mixed, highlighted etc yields a pattern and this is what I exploit. There really is no process and no structure except for the shell of events, as with the hadron collider smashing at the same particles anyone else can use or see, except in some cases the images and abstracts stick and the image I didn’t know I had in my head appears on the screen.
