had that rejection feeling?......group specifics for art acceptance are many and varied and fair enough…..some groups create their guidelines and you must accept them if you want entry …....fine…..but some groups operate under an umbrella of a larger..more defined and certainly for the moderator or host a set of pre-determined, inherited obligations in respect to any ‘right of passage’.
one group within redbubble has taken on the daunting task of presenting the surrealist artist.
so what is surrealism? we can all google and get an insight thru words and images but does that really explain the movement as easy as picking up a paintbrush and painting like the impressionists? surrealism existed for a particular time and place and was never intended to progress into an everchanging world…..but we still try to honour its original values….pay homage to dali,ernst,chagall etc with our inept attempts.
the point I’m trying to make is that a work I believe to be of strong surrealistic elements has been rejected by the surrealist group. I’m not writing this to argue a point but to let you decide …...what is surrealism? the painting in question is ‘NUDE” and the image along with a statement from the ‘surrealist’ and my reply can be found on my bubble….
