Another from Avoca and the weekend. Unfortunately shooting directly into the sun resulted in the flare on the filters, but it was either accept the flare or abandon the shot :(

Thanks Adriana. This was actually a bit of a fluke as well, I’d taken a few with the some comp trying to get something interesting with waves. I was about to lift the camera up and move elsewhere when this big wave came crashing in over the rocks. I only saw it out of the corner of my eye and hit the shutter release just at the right time.

Thanks Steve. Canon 350D, 10-22mm @ 10mm, I think f/22, around 1/2s and a total of 5 stop ND grads (a 3 stop and a 2 stop), remote shutter release used and tripod.

this is a wonderful capture. the sunrise is beautiful, and i really like how you’ve captured the water in the foreground. and i like the flare at the bottom – adds to the shot a bit more. thank you for putting this up to share.

Thanks! I didn’t notice it until I got back to the house and had a proper look. Unfortunate, but you just have to live with it sometimes.
