Wave 2
Part of my 20 images that changed my portfolio set.
I will always remember taking this shot, as I was caught in a Storm Force 10 on the north tip of mainland Orkney. The light was just right and as I was just getting finished I saw the makings of a huge wave out in the water. Trying to protect myself from injury I managed a sequence of 5 shots as the wave finally reached shore and crashed down on the submerged rocks. The next day when I revisited the shore much of it had been altered through the power of the waves.
Wave 2 belongs to the following groups:
Beach Art, Creative, Talented, and Unknown, Ebony and Ivory, Northern landscape, RB ALUMNI, Rural Around The Globe, SEA, Severe Weather, Shades of Grey, The Scots are Coming and United Kingdom Available for sale asGreeting Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints and Framed Prints

This is one of the most sensational wave shots I’ve ever seen … what speed did you use??

Thank you for your comments. This was one of a sequence of 5 shots taken at 0.2sec intervals with my previous camera, the Fuji Finepix 6900. The speed was on 1/1000sec with ISo set at 400.

The wave almost looks gentle the way it was captured…if that makes any sense. Very nice.
