This bull Steller Sea Lion has quite a mouthful, to say the least! The flood tide is really ripping here in Inian Pass in Southeast Alaska and this Steller has managed to grab a young halibut in its jaws, but now the dilemma…how to eat a large, flat fish without losing your grip and letting it get away! The answer of course is to surface, throw the fish into the air, and catch it like a giant potato chip, swallowing it in a single gulp. Don’t try this at home (OK, maybe with popcorn, but definitely NOT with a wriggling fish!)
