When I lived in California in the 1960s thru 80s, I would take my pens and ink on my horse with me, and set up and paint. They dried quickly, and the horse was happy. He got to graze, while I painted. I lived in Simi Valley as a teenager when I painted this, back MANY moons ago. These Sunkist orange groves are long gone, turned into housing tracts and freeways, but the memories remain. This is probably why I painted it, they were doomed. I loved them. This is a small painting, about 12" by 14", on Arches watercolor paper, done in Pelican ink and watercolor.
