I lived briefly in Casscoe, a mile away from Potlatch/Cooks Lake nature preserve. Its the only licensed hummingbird banding station in Arkansas, USA. About 10,000 plus hummers go there each year. They haven’t always done this, but every year more show up. No body seems to know why. Cornell can’t even figure it out! It keeps my friend busy banding and logging them, shes the only one in the state who can. Our house is on the main highway, heading OUT of the preserve, and we always keep our feeder filled (and my camera handy). I’ll see several hundred a day sometimes, like this one. Shot in Aug 2012 with a SanyoVPC-E2100.

I’ve had a camera in my hand since the old Swinger Camera days (remember those?). EVERYWHERE I go, my cameras go. My friends and family gave up trying to separate us a long time ago….But I’m relatively new to digital photography. I keep saying “Where have you been all my life…?” There are so many beautiful images on Red Bubble. I’m SO inspired!
